Early Morning (6:00)1 cup warm water, 2 soaked almonds
Breakfast (8:00)1 cup oats porridge (no sugar), 1 boiled egg white × 2, 1 glass skimmed milk
Mid-Morning (10:30)1 small apple or guava
Lunch (13:00)2 rotis (wholewheat), 1 cup dal, 1 cup mixed vegetable sabzi, salad, 1 small cup curd (low fat)
Evening Snack (16:00)1 cup green tea (no sugar), 2 marie biscuits or handful roasted chana
Dinner (19:30)2 rotis, 1 cup dal / legumes, salad. No rice at night.
Restrictions: Low sodium (< 2g/day), no fried foods, no refined sugar, limit potassium if K > 5.5
Supplements: Omega-3 1g OD, Vitamin D3 60,000 IU weekly
Patient diabetic — monitor pre/post meal glucose. Educate on glycaemic index of foods.
